Branded Environments & Space Takeovers

Space Takeovers & Branded
Environments — Landmarks, Galleries, Venues

Take Over the Room. We Build Everything in It.

NVS Visuals designs, fabricates and installs space takeovers and branded environments in the rooms brands are rarely allowed to touch: a landmark train terminal, a gallery, an operating restaurant, stadium grounds, a public plaza. Every venue takeover we deliver is an immersive brand experience built from scratch — structure, scenic, graphics, lighting and AV — and installed inside the venue’s rules and load-in window.

Our branded environment fabrication runs in-house, under one roof: engineering, carpentry, foam carving, acrylic, millwork, large-format print, transport, install and strike, with one project manager from first render to the morning the space is handed back.

We are the production partner behind agencies like Care of Chan, Known, Small Girls PR and C. O’Neil Productions, and we work directly with brand marketing teams.

Featured Takeover:
Tatcha at Grand Central

CNC hot-wire cut and sculpted foam moss hillside in front of the Tatcha tea pavilion

Tatcha “Breathtaking Skin” — Vanderbilt Hall, Grand Central Terminal

For Tatcha, produced with Care of Chan and art director Dani Egren, we built a 28-foot double-sided plexiglass tea pavilion and a 32′ × 15′ moss garden in the middle of one of the busiest rooms in New York.

The landforms were CNC hot-wire cut from foam, hand-sculpted, painted and finished in preserved moss. Grand Central limits the size of anything that comes through its load-in, so every large element was engineered in sections, then spliced together on site so no seam shows.

7 days of fabrication in our shop. 1 day to install. PE-stamped engineering, fire certification and the venue submission package were all handled in-house, in parallel with the build.

Selected Environments & Takeovers

CARE.org × Known — Highline Nine Gallery Takeover

A full takeover of the Highline Nine gallery space for the CARE Package® anniversary, created with Known. To make the storefront read as the iconic CARE Package® box, we built a custom beMatrix facade arch that squared off the building’s curves into a clean box silhouette.

Inside, custom plywood exhibition walls, exposed plywood plinths and a custom-fabricated tent carried guests through a timeline of the CARE Package® from 1945 to 2026, with packing stations, a “What’s Inside the Box” installation and wall-to-floor graphics on windows, walls and the floor itself. Because CARE is a not-for-profit, we value-engineered every element with Known against a defined budget.

KFC Sundays — Operating Restaurant Takeover

For National Chicken Sandwich Day, KFC and Small Girls PR turned the operating KFC at 14th Street & Second Avenue into a new restaurant concept for one day only. We wrapped the 36-foot facade, covered the existing signage with a custom LED marquee, rebuilt the interior with scenic flats, wallcoverings and new seating, and built an 8′ × 10′ LED photo wall as the hero moment.

It was a single-day turnaround: loaded in at midnight, open to guests at 7am, struck at 7pm — and the restaurant went back to its original condition.

Nathan’s Famous — Yankee Stadium Game-Day Build

A 30′ × 30′ branded environment on stadium grounds in front of Yankee Stadium, anchored by a double-deck BeMatrix structure dressed in SEG fabric graphics, with turf, a photo wall, a photo booth and a custom Nathan’s mascot.

Stadium operations leave a narrow window, so we pre-built and pre-tested the full double-deck frame in our shop, staged crew and materials for a sequenced install, and put the whole build up in a single game day.

Jo Malone London — Sea Salt & Bergamot, Herald Square & Domino Park

In August 2026, produced with C. O’Neil Productions, we took Jo Malone London’s Sea Salt & Bergamot activation into two public plazas: Macy’s Herald Square and Domino Park in Brooklyn.

The set paired a beach-hut photobooth built on a beMatrix frame with a fabricated rocks set and a green London taxi topped with a Jo Malone gift-box roof — a seaside world dropped into the middle of the city.

What We Build

• Landmark & venue takeovers — terminals, halls, lobbies and event venues converted into a single branded world, engineered around the venue’s access and rules.

• Gallery & exhibition takeovers — facade conversions and museum-grade interior exhibitions with timeline walls, plinths and installations.

• Operating restaurant & retail takeovers — an open store or restaurant transformed inside and out, then returned to its original condition. For storefront pop-up shops, see retail pop-ups.

• Immersive brand environments — sculpted landscapes, pavilions and multi-room experiences built to move people and earn content.

• Modular & reusable structures — beMatrix builds engineered to travel, reconfigure and redeploy across markets.

• Environmental graphics — large-format wall, window, floor and surface graphics that wrap the entire space.

In-House, End to End

A high-budget environment is a trust decision. The reason brands and agencies hand us the whole build is that nothing leaves our control:

• Design — concept support, 3D rendering and layout planning

• Engineering — structural and shop drawings, PE stamping and venue submissions

• Fabrication — scenic walls, structures, props and sculptures built in our shop (CNC, 3D printing, foam carving, woodwork, metal, acrylic)

• Environmental graphics — printed, finished and installed in-house

• Transport, install & strike — our own crews, on location, start to finish

One team, one shop, one point of contact — which is how a full environment goes up on schedule and on budget, anywhere.

Venues & Compliance

Every venue writes its own rules. A takeover lives or dies on load-in limits, access windows and paperwork, so we plan the build around them from the first drawing:

• Landmark — Grand Central’s Vanderbilt Hall: elements sized to the terminal’s load-in, spliced on site, with PE-stamped drawings and fire certification submitted to the venue.

• Gallery — Highline Nine: a full facade conversion and complete interior exhibition inside a working gallery space.

• Operating restaurant — KFC at 14th & Second: in at midnight, open at 7am, out at 7pm.

• Stadium grounds — Yankee Stadium: pre-built and pre-tested off site, installed within game-day constraints.

• Public plazas — Macy’s Herald Square and Domino Park for Jo Malone London.

We coordinate load-in and strike windows, produce the engineering and fire documentation venues ask for, supply certificates of insurance to venues and landlords, and restore the space at strike.

Timelapse: our crew loading in the Tatcha pavilion and moss garden at Grand Central in a single day.

What a Space Takeover Costs

Footprint, venue, materials and run length drive the number, but this is where our projects land:

Mobile pop-up, single day — from about $50,000
One of our vehicles built out, branded and run for the day.

Branded pop-up or space takeover — $150,000 to $400,000+
A fabricated environment in a venue, gallery, storefront or public space: engineering, fabrication, graphics, AV, install and strike.

Multi-city tours — quoted per market
Priced on routing, number of stops, run length and staffing. See mobile tours.

Permits, licensing, venue fees, insurance and security are scoped separately, and we price them up front so there are no surprises after the venue signs off.

National Reach

High-ticket environments are worth traveling for, and we build them to travel. NVS owns the shop and the logistics, so a branded environment fabricated in New York can install in Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami or anywhere the campaign lands, with our own crews handling install and strike. Modular, reusable construction means the same environment can redeploy market to market without a rebuild.

Space Takeover FAQs

What is a branded environment or space takeover? + -

A branded environment is a physical space — a venue, gallery, lobby, store or restaurant — fully transformed into a brand’s world through fabrication, scenic builds and environmental graphics. A takeover converts an existing space, inside and out, for the run of the campaign. We design, build, install and strike the whole thing, graphics included.

How much does a space takeover cost? + -

Branded pop-ups and space takeovers typically run $150,000 to $400,000+, depending on footprint, venue, materials and run length. Single-day mobile pop-ups start around $50,000, and multi-city tours are quoted per market. Permits, licensing, venue fees, insurance and security are scoped separately — we price them up front.

Can you take over a landmark or operating venue? + -

Yes. We built Tatcha’s tea pavilion and moss garden inside Grand Central’s Vanderbilt Hall, engineered in sections for the terminal’s load-in, with PE-stamped drawings, fire certification and the venue submission handled in-house. We also took over an operating KFC for a day — in at midnight, open at 7am, struck at 7pm — and returned the restaurant to its original condition.

How fast can a takeover be built and installed? + -

It depends on scope and the venue’s access. Tatcha at Grand Central took seven days of fabrication in our shop and one day to install. Nathan’s double-deck build at Yankee Stadium was pre-built and pre-tested, then installed in a single game day. Tell us your date and venue and we’ll tell you what is realistic.

Do you install nationwide? + -

Yes. NVS fabricates in New York and installs nationwide with our own crews — transport, on-site build and strike included.

Can the environment be reused or sent on tour? + -

Yes. We build on modular, reusable framing when a build needs to travel or redeploy — the same environment can move market to market with graphic swaps and no structural rebuild.
