Pop-Up Fabrication — Custom
Branded Pop-Up Builds
We Build Pop-Ups From Scratch
Pop-up fabrication at NVS Visuals is not décor placement or furniture rental. It is ground-up construction — walls, structures, fixtures, graphics, lighting, and AV — built entirely in our facility and installed by our crew.
We have fabricated full restaurant takeovers, retail environments, product launch rooms, and multi-room experiential spaces. The difference between a pop-up that feels like a pop-up and one that feels like a permanent space is the quality of the build. That is what we deliver.
Every pop-up fabrication project at NVS is executed 100% in-house — design, structural fabrication, graphics production, AV integration, and installation. One team controls every decision, which means faster timelines, tighter quality, and zero gaps between what was designed and what gets built.

What We Fabricate
Structural Builds & Scenic Flats
Custom walls, temporary rooms, scenic flats, and architectural framing. We build structures that reconfigure existing spaces — from single feature walls to complete floor plan transformations. All structural builds are engineered for fast install and clean strike.
Modular Systems — BeMatrix & Truss
For pop-ups that need to travel or reconfigure between events, we build on BeMatrix modular framing and truss systems. These allow rapid graphic swaps and layout changes without structural rework — the same system we used on the DDN AI Factory Tour.
Custom Fixtures, Furniture & Displays
Counters, shelving, product displays, pedestals, seating, bars, and serving stations — all fabricated to spec. We build in wood, metal, acrylic, foam, and composites. Nothing is off-the-shelf unless you want it to be.
Graphics, Wraps & Environmental Printing
Every surface in a pop-up is a branding opportunity. We produce and install wall wraps, floor graphics, door wraps, window film, custom wallpaper, backlit displays, and dimensional signage — all printed in-house on our large-format and specialty printers.
AV, Lighting & Interactive Elements
LED walls, custom lighting rigs, sound systems, touchscreen kiosks, projection mapping, and photo moment installations. We integrate AV into the fabrication from day one — not as an afterthought bolted on at the end.
Props & Scenic Fabrication
Oversized product replicas, custom signage, sculptural elements, and themed scenic pieces. Our shop handles 3D printing, CNC milling, foam carving, laser cutting, and hand finishing — whatever the build requires.

Pop-Up Types We Build
Every pop-up fabrication project is custom, but here are the formats we build most often:
• Retail pop-ups — fully shoppable branded environments with fixtures, signage, and POS integration. See our Amika pop-up.
• Restaurant and food & beverage takeovers — full-venue transformations including facades, interiors, furniture, and photo moments. See the KFC Sundays takeover.
• Product launch environments — immersive rooms designed to showcase a single product or collection with maximum visual impact.
• Multi-room experiential spaces — walk-through activations with distinct zones, transitions, and themed environments. See the Jo Malone pop-up.
• Holiday and seasonal pop-ups — branded experiences tied to specific moments. See our holiday activations.
• Mobile pop-ups — pop-up environments built inside vehicles or trailers for touring activations. We own the vehicle fleet and build the interior — including our 38′ expandable trailer.

Why In-House Fabrication Changes Everything
Most experiential agencies outsource fabrication to one vendor, graphics to another, AV to a third, and furniture to a fourth. Every handoff adds time, cost, and risk. Details get lost between teams. Finishes do not match. Timelines slip.
At NVS, the designer who draws the wall talks directly to the fabricator who builds it, the printer who wraps it, and the installer who mounts it. That is not a workflow advantage — it is a quality advantage. It is why we can deliver a full KFC restaurant takeover in 14 days or a nationwide AI tour build in 45 days.
What we control in-house:
• Design and 3D rendering
• Structural fabrication (wood, metal, foam, acrylic, composites)
• Large-format printing and graphics
• AV integration (LED, sound, lighting, interactive)
• Installation, on-site management, and strike
• Logistics and permitting for mobile and multi-market deployments

How a Pop-Up Build Works at NVS
Every pop-up fabrication project follows a structured process — but the process is not rigid. We adapt sequencing and overlap workstreams based on your timeline. Here is how a typical build moves through our facility:
1. Concept & Spatial Planning
We start with your brief, your renders, or just a conversation about what the experience should feel like. Our design team produces 3D renderings and floor plans that account for traffic flow, sightlines, photo moments, and operational needs (power, AV, storage). If you have an existing design, we translate it into fabrication-ready files. If you need the concept developed, we handle that too.
2. Engineering & Material Selection
Once the design is locked, we spec the build — structural systems (traditional framing, BeMatrix modular framing, or hybrid), facing materials (MDF, luan, sintra, SEG fabric), and finish treatments. Material choices are driven by the activation duration, venue constraints, transport requirements, and visual goals. We present options with trade-offs so you make informed decisions.
3. Fabrication & Graphics Production
Structural fabrication and graphics production run in parallel at our Ridgewood, NY facility. While the carpentry team builds walls, fixtures, and structures, our print shop produces wraps, wallpaper, signage, backlit panels, and dimensional graphics. Running these simultaneously is how we compress timelines — and it only works because both departments are in the same building.
4. AV & Technology Integration
LED walls, lighting rigs, sound systems, touchscreens, and interactive installations are integrated during fabrication — not retrofitted after. Our AV team works alongside the fabricators to ensure power, data, mounting, and thermal considerations are solved during the build, not discovered during install.
5. Installation & Activation
Our install crews transport, assemble, and finish the pop-up on-site. For complex builds, we do a full dry assembly in our shop first to catch any issues before the venue load-in. On-site, we handle graphics application, AV testing, furniture placement, and final QA. We stay through activation day to ensure everything performs.
6. Strike & Restoration
After the activation, we disassemble everything and restore the venue to its original condition. For the KFC Sundays takeover, we reversed a complete restaurant transformation overnight — façade, interior, fixtures, lighting, and graphics — returning it to a functioning KFC by morning.

Materials & Structural Systems
The right build system depends on the activation — how long it runs, whether it travels, how fast it needs to go up, and what level of finish the brand requires. We work across all of these:
Traditional Scenic Fabrication
Custom-built walls, flats, and structures from wood, MDF, and steel. Best for one-off builds where every dimension is unique and the finish needs to be seamless. This is how we built the KFC Sundays interior — scenic flats, wrapped counters, LED frames, and custom furniture all fabricated to precise specs.
BeMatrix Modular Framing
Aluminum modular frames faced with MDF, luan, sintra, or custom-printed SEG fabric. Assembles in hours, accepts tool-free graphic swaps, and packs flat for transport. Ideal for touring pop-ups, trade shows, and activations that need to reconfigure between events. We used this system on the DDN AI Factory Tour with glow-edge LED integration.
Hybrid Builds
Most of our pop-ups combine systems. A BeMatrix frame might form the primary walls while custom-fabricated fixtures, counters, and display elements are built traditionally. The photo moment might be CNC-cut dimensional signage mounted on a modular panel. We match the build system to each element based on what performs best — not what is easiest.
Facing Materials
• MDF — rigid, smooth, paintable. Our go-to for walls, counters, and architectural elements that need a solid, permanent finish.
• Luan — lightweight plywood for large wall surfaces and scenic flats. Easy to print on, wrap, or paint.
• Sintra (expanded PVC) — lightweight, moisture-resistant, dimensionally stable. Excellent for graphic-wrapped panels, signage, and environments that need to withstand multi-day or multi-market use.
• SEG fabric — silicone-edge printed fabric that slots directly into BeMatrix frame channels. Enables tool-free graphic changes in minutes. Machine-washable and reusable across campaigns.
• Acrylic and specialty materials — backlit panels, frosted partitions, dimensional logos, and custom elements fabricated on our CNC and laser systems.
Pop-Up Fabrication FAQs
How fast can you build a pop-up?
It depends on scope. Simple branded environments can be ready in 1–2 weeks. Full-scale multi-room builds with AV and custom fabrication typically take 3–6 weeks. We have delivered complex builds in as little as 14 days when the timeline demands it.
Do you handle design or just fabrication?
Both. We can work from your existing designs or develop the concept from scratch — including 3D renderings, material selection, and spatial planning. Our design team works directly with our fabricators, so what gets rendered is exactly what gets built.
Can you build a pop-up inside a vehicle?
Yes. We specialize in mobile pop-up fabrication and own a full fleet of experiential vehicles including food trucks, Airstreams, school buses, glass trucks, and a 38′ expandable trailer.
Do you handle installation and strike?
Yes. NVS manages the full lifecycle — fabrication, delivery, installation, on-site support, and complete strike and restoration. We have reversed full venue takeovers overnight.
What materials do you work with?
Wood, metal, acrylic, foam, MDF, PVC, aluminum, composites, and specialty materials. We also produce all graphics in-house including vinyl, fabric, wallpaper, backlit film, and dimensional signage. See our full fabrication capabilities.
